A few months ago, I noted that the NBA\u2019s official stats page<\/a> periodically adds new metrics to better show what\u2019s unfolding on the floor.<\/p>\n

That day, I focused on one of my favorite charts, the STREAM<\/em><\/a>. Today, we\u2019re diving into the latest heavy-hitter, launched in October 2024. In other words, we\u2019ve just seen its debut season.<\/p>\n

And now that a certain video just went viral, it\u2019s a good time to check how this rookie stat<\/em> has performed. We\u2019re talking about the compelling Dunk Scores<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, a section intended to be an ‘objective judge’ when rating dunks as if it were All-Star Weekend— but with a far stricter and more limited margin for discretion.<\/p>\n
