We did not even have to wait until the end of the first week of the NBA season to witness the first 50-point performance. And, to the surprise of practically no one, the man responsible was Luka Doncic<\/a><\/strong>. The Slovenian put on an extraordinary display in Salt Lake City, scoring 52 points to drag a sluggish Lakers side back into the contest and lead them to a 132-123 victory. It was a hard-fought win that kept JJ Redick’s team unbeaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guard had one of those nights when everything seemed to go his way, scoring from all over the court and even exchanging words with opposition fans sitting courtside. While there are games when he looks as though he would rather be anywhere but on the court, this was one of those nights that brought out his killer instinct. Against a player in that kind of mood, all you can do is hope his shots stop falling. Unfortunately for Utah, 17 of his 30 field-goal attempts found the basket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
