{"id":552,"date":"2026-10-27T09:03:37","date_gmt":"2026-10-27T08:03:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nbamaniacs.com\/en\/?p=552"},"modified":"2026-10-28T16:47:16","modified_gmt":"2026-10-28T16:47:16","slug":"brandon-miller-looks-every-inch-a-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nbamaniacs.com\/en\/brandon-miller-looks-every-inch-a-star\/","title":{"rendered":"Brandon Miller looks every inch a star"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brandon Miller is showing glimpses of the NBA superstar he could become.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last night against Washington he showed why Charlotte backed him with a five-year, $209 million extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miller set a new NBA career scoring high with <strong>39 points<\/strong> in the <strong>110-103<\/strong> win over Washington, which leaves them at <strong>3-1<\/strong> to start the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also contributed <strong>6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals<\/strong>, shooting 15 of 28 from the field and 5 of 10 from three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We&#8217;re a team that tries to push the pace of our game,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I think we did a good job of that tonight. We managed to open up the defence and attack the matchups we wanted,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Game Highlights | Brandon Miller Scores Career-High 39 PTS as Hornets Beat Wizards | 10\/26\/2026\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3WSr8CWhdMU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miller hit a key mid-range jump shot in the final minute, along with two free throws. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With his performance against the capital side, he made NBA history by becoming the second-fastest player to reach 500 career three-pointers, achieving the milestone in just 170 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His teammate Naz Reid added <strong>18 points and 12 rebounds<\/strong>, while veteran Grayson Allen contributed <strong>15 points<\/strong> off the bench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It should be noted that Charlotte managed just 1 of 11 from three in the first quarter. However, they gained momentum in the second, hitting 6 of 11 attempts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They finished the game shooting 43% from the field and 31% from three-point range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Washington, only star player Anthony Davis put up much resistance, finishing with <strong>29 points, 10 rebounds and a steal<\/strong> on 11-of-22 shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It makes me smile every time my teammates trust me.
