Jaylen Brown has had to weather the storm after fresh rumours painted him as the “villain of the piece” in Boston.
Former player Brian Scalabrine recently branded him “capricious”, alleging he had requested a trade to the Milwaukee Bucks.
“All of that is 1000% false,” said his representative.
Scalabrine also made claims about alleged demands Brown had made of the Celtics front office before his move to Philadelphia was confirmed.
“I don’t know what the ultimatum was, the demands or whatever it was. Do this, don’t do that… And one of those things could have been: Give me a $140 million extension”, the former player said.
Be that as it may, more details continue to emerge about Brown’s allegedly acrimonious departure. Many have also suggested that his relationship with Jayson Tatum deteriorated in recent months.
“Jayson is an incredible guy”, said Brown.
“Like I said, he has a wonderful family and is a great player, and he has a great PR team. There’s no conflict between us, but I’m sure there’ll be a bit of rivalry between us”, he added.
It is worth remembering that Brown was ultimately traded for Paul George, two future first-round draft picks and two future second-round picks.
