Kevin Porter Jr. looks set to remain in the NBA. The 26-year-old was waived by the Milwaukee Bucks just before the season began, but his time as a free agent may be brief.
According to Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, several teams are considering the guard as a possible addition, including the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings.
Although the interest is firm, there is no guarantee that a move will happen soon. Teams have only just started the season and are still evaluating their rosters to identify areas for improvement. Whether Porter Jr. returns to the NBA, and how soon, will depend on how those situations develop.

Where he does seem to fit on paper is with the Kings. The serious injury suffered by Ben Simmons has left a gap in Sacramento’s backcourt that Porter Jr. could help fill. Either way, it does not appear that their season depends on whether they sign him.
Do the Nuggets need Kevin Porter Jr.?
Considering what Porter Jr. could add to the Nuggets, it is obvious he would give them ball-handling and the ability to create points one-on-one, but it remains to be seen how many minutes he would get and whether he could do it alongside Jamal Murray and Tyus Jones.
Either way, it seems clear that Denver needs a wing who can create scoring opportunities and provide an offensive spark when the starters are resting. Porter Jr. could fit that role well, offering more scoring versatility than a traditional pass-first point guard.
