La NBA ha anunciado el calendario de la próxima pretemporada 2011 en el caso de que se reanude la competición y asociación de jugadores y la propia competición lleguen a un acuerdo.
La programación de la preparación de los equipos constará de un total de 114 partidos repartidos entre el 9 y el 28 de octubre. Por su parte, la temporada está prevista que comience el 1 de noviembre.
La TNT y la ESPN televisarán dos encuentros cada uno a lo largo del mes de octubre. La cobertura de la primera comenzará el día 20 cuando los Miami Heat se enfrenten a los Memphis Grizzlies. También contarán con la retransmisión del derby angelino entre Lakers y Clippers.
Por parte de la ESPN, televisará dos partidos el 28 de octubre con un duelo entre los renovados Washington Wizards y Miami Heat. Además, destaca el segundo partido de la noche, en el cual se enfrentarán los vigentes campeones, los Dallas Mavericks, y los New Orleans Hornets.
Respecto a los equipos europeos que viajarán a los Estados Unidos, el Maccabi Haifa jugará un amistoso el domingo día 23 frente a los Orlando Magic.
