Golden State will be looking to build on their recent improvement, and what better opportunity than a home game against one of the Western Conference’s struggling teams? After an impressive victory over the Lakers, Steve Kerr’s side will now look to beat the other Los Angeles team and secure their fourth consecutive win.

Warriors vs Clippers: best bet

Curry’s absence makes this a more evenly matched contest, with Golden State no longer looking quite as strong as they would with their star guard available. However, the Warriors’ recent form suggests they are still capable of securing a victory without him.

Warriors latest news: absences and form

There were early concerns at the Chase Center when Golden State opened the season with three consecutive defeats. The worst fears appeared to be coming true, and although it was still early, some were already questioning whether Kerr’s team could compete this season. Three games later, the outlook has changed considerably.

Golden State have responded with three straight wins, and against strong opposition. The Nuggets, Timberwolves and Lakers have all fallen to a Warriors side that looks revitalised, with greater energy, pace and confidence. Their comeback from 25 points down against the Lakers was particularly impressive. With Curry in outstanding form, they have become a dangerous opponent once again.

Player to watch: Yaxel Lendeborg

Although Curry will not play tonight, one of the biggest revelations of the early season will be available. Lendeborg arrived in the NBA with a reputation as one of the most league-ready rookies, and he has wasted little time justifying those expectations.

The former Michigan standout has already recorded three games with more than 25 points, and with Curry absent, he could have another opportunity to take on a leading offensive role.

Clippers latest news: absences and form

The Clippers’ difficult start to the season has hardly come as a surprise. Expectations were low heading into the campaign, and with just one victory against the Sacramento Kings, they have done little to suggest otherwise.

Los Angeles are in a rebuilding phase, focused on reshaping the squad and laying the foundations for the future. That process was always likely to involve some difficult results.

Injuries have made matters worse, leaving the Clippers struggling to compete with stronger opponents. They have now suffered four consecutive defeats, and their losing run could continue. For now, their main priority appears to be developing their younger players rather than chasing immediate results.

Player to watch: Keaton Wagler

Wagler is one of the Clippers’ most promising young players, and his development will be an important factor in how their season is assessed.

So far, the early signs have been mixed. His average of 14.4 points per game is encouraging, but he is shooting just 28.6 per cent from the field and relies heavily on free throws for his scoring. Improving his shooting efficiency will be crucial as the season progresses.

Warriors vs Clippers: head-to-head record

The Clippers have enjoyed a surprisingly strong record against Golden State in recent years. They have won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the teams, including a 10-2 record across the last three seasons.

Warriors vs Clippers predictions

20+ points from Yaxel Lendeborg. The rookie has already shown that he can step up when asked to take on greater responsibility. With Curry unavailable, he has a good opportunity to deliver another impressive scoring performance.

6+ assists from Darius Garland. The point guard has started the season with strong playmaking numbers and will once again be responsible for creating scoring opportunities for his teammates.

Under 220 total points. Given Golden State’s absences and the Clippers’ offensive limitations, this could be a relatively low-scoring contest.
