It seems Kawhi Leonard’s absence will be shorter than expected. After just two games with the Toronto Raptors, the forward had to stop because of a problem with his left knee, even being listed as out indefinitely. Well, his return to the court could come very soon.

According to the Canadian side’s official statement, the treatment the two-time champion has followed on his joint has been a success, and he is now already immersed in the process of returning to action.

Although they have not wanted to give a date for his return, the organisation stresses that there will be a new update in a week, so we could see him in action on 13 November against the Milwaukee Bucks (at the earliest).

It is good news. The MRI scan he underwent as soon as the discomfort came to light revealed no structural damage, a relief given that Leonard has previously had problems with his right knee, having undergone several operations on the meniscus and the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Leonard, who was the great star of those Raptors who won the title in 2019, looked in good form in the two official games he was able to play at the start of the current season, averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals.

Traded from the Clippers in the summer, and not without controversy, he agreed a two-year contract extension worth $115 million with the Canadian side. They have shown great faith in him despite his being 35 already. Will he repay it?
